Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED -Full Review

Asus has finally launched its latest top-the-line notebook for creators and enthusiasts. Equipped with industry-leading top-of-line specs and specs, it’s sure to woo some pros out of their mac. Targeted specifically to visual creators and editors, it packs some unique features as well as horsepower to sail through any task.

The build quality of the Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED is also pretty good. It’s quite sturdy and reliable given its all-metal build.it also comes with a US MIL-STD 810H military-grade standard certification, which means it can survive under extreme conditions. All in all, Asus promises industry-leading build quality and reliability in Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED.

Ports, I/O and connectivity

Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED comes stacked with ports and connectivity. It has 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with power delivery/display support/VR. It also features 1 HDMI 2.1,1x 3.5mm audio jack,1x RJ45 ethernet connector,1xDC-in and an SD express 7.0 card reader.

And it also comes with wifi-6(802.11ac) and Bluetooth 5.2(Dual-band).

Input Devices

Keyboard-Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED features a full layout chicklet style backlit keyboard. It has 1.4mm of key travel and 2 customizable keys for better customization and ease of access. The keys are quite tactile and responsive and most will have no problem with its layout.

Trackpad– The trackpad on the Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED is quite impressive and responsive given its creator-focused package. It features dedicated left and right buttons along with a unique middle button to pan, rotate or orbit any object on the screen. The touchpad is pretty big for any windows laptop and supports up to 1024 touchpoints to use with any stylus. Even though a stylus on a trackpad might sound crazy, but it’ll be quite handy for pros who now don’t have to carry a graphics tablet everywhere.

Dial-Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED also features a dial which is a creator-focused tool. It features up to 70 customizable functions. It’s best used in creative apps i.e., adobe photoshop, lightroom where you don’t have to use the trackpad to edit every element in an image or a video. It’s quite handy, to be honest, and we can also call it an innovation by Asus.

The notebook also features a kill switch for the webcam and a decent mic with AI noise cancellation for better everyday zoom meetings.

It also features a fingerprint on the power button as well as an infrared face unlock, present near the webcam at the top.

Display

The display on Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED is pretty amazing is quite an understatement. It features a 16’’ 120Hz  2.5K(2560×1600)  OLED display with a wide-view 16:10 aspect ratio. The display  is super colors accurate and has tons of certifications to validate that. Screen of the notebook has a peak brightness of 500 nits and Delta-E<1.5. It’s best creators and professionals, there’s no two-way about it.

 Honestly the display on this beast is  much better than the much expensive MacBook Pro.

Performance

The performance on the notebook is pretty amazing as well. Asus Proart studio 16 OLED comes with up to AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX mobile processor and Nvidia RTX 3070 GPU, although all of them Max-Q versions to be exact.

Horsepower offered by the notebook is enough for almost all the creators and can handle almost any task you throw at it.

The thermals of the notebook are pretty great as well, given the advantage AMD gives over intel. The sound from the fans is not that loud as well giving around 40dBA at max.

Storage

The notebook offers pretty great storage options too. It offers up to 4TB of NVMe PCIe 3.0 at RAID 0 configuration.

It also comes with up to 32GB of SO-DIMM  RAM in dual configuration.

Speakers

The speakers on the Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED are pretty loud and clear. It’s powered by Harman and Kardon as well as DTS. The volume gets pretty high as well. It also comes with Hi-Res audio certification, which is great if u have a good pair of headphones that support high-bit rate audio.

Battery life

Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED comes 90Whr Li-ion battery. It also comes with a 240V AC adapter. Asus claims 8.5 hours of battery life but with all the power under its hood, it might differ under one’s usage.

 

Upgradability

RAM is upgradable to a max of 64GB. Storage also can be expanded though it has to be a nvme SSD. The notebook is quite accessible from the back and is quite easy to open with proper tools and expertise.

Whether or not Asus Proart Studio 16 OLED will snatch some mac users or generally some high-rated creators, only time will tell.Innovation in technology is something that we love and something that we should share and enjoy.
